FP Top 5

Having a week off mid-term is a great idea. Being able to do other things apart from work or study can have a positive impact on motivation and wellbeing.

Today I'd like to write about the top 5 activities I did during the past week.

1. Sleep

I guess this will be high on most people's list:) I normally get up at 6.45 - 7.00 am every week-day, so being able to sleep in until 9 or 10 am was great. I think I enjoyed it more because of the time of the year. There have been a lot of grey, sun-less days recently, and being able to stay in bed when its cold outside is wonderful.

2. Hobby Time

Extra time off always means having a little more time to dedicate to doing hobbies. As you may know by now, my main hobby is making music. I combine electronic instruments and rhythms with live guitar and, occasionally, vocals randomly. This past week I fine tuned a couple of songs I'm working on and started a couple of new projects. I had hoped to get more done this week but I guess the traditional "social activities" intervened. Nevertheless, I managed to make progress:)

3. Socialising

I managed to catch up with lots of people over the last week or so. Other friends also had additional free time so it made it easier to coordinate. I went to Algarrobo for the day yesterday to vist some friends on the "little plot of land" (parcela), which was lots of fun but not a sunny as had been forecast. We had a barbecue  (vegan for my wife & I) and drank some really amazing chicha from Curacavi. Really tasty and not too strong (hic!).

4. Watching movies

Watching half movies might be a better title as I managed to watch 2 movies and 2 half movies. This evening I watched a (I think) independent Canadian movie. It was a comedy, quite predictable at times but well made. Of the other film & 2 halfs, I can remember half of the last Matrix series (Matrix Revolution maybe?), which I found rather boring and full of long-winded explanations (not recommended). I  know I enjoyed the other film I saw but at the moment I can't remember it. I watched all of these movies with my wife. She fell asleep during the films we didn't finish........

5. Cooking

I have to say, I cooked a couple of great meals this last week. I guess the best dish was a vegan moussaka. It was only the 2nd time I'd cooked it. It has mushrooms and lentils instead of meat but tastes amazing because of the special preparation of the aubergine and the potatoes (both are lightly fried in olive oil before being added to the main dish and being cooked in the oven. A delicious meal every time. Yesterday evening I cooked a sort of cheese-less pizza with onion, mushroom, red-pepper, & aubergine. The base was made from flour, water & olive oil. I cooked it in a hot oven for about 8-10 minutes. Tasted fabulous:)

Write about your top 5 activities this last week.

For each one say:

What is was,

How long you did it for,

What it involved,

Who you did it with,

How much you enjoyed it.

Mention anything else you think is important or interesting. Try to write at least 200 words. Leave a comment on your teacher's blog and on the blogs of 3 classmates.
